Welcome to The Hingson Law Firm, PC

While many attorneys and even software programs may be willing to assist you with a “simple Will,” the reality is that most of us do not have a simple estate. You might be single with no heirs and no one to rely on if you become incapacitated, or you might be married and have children that are “his, hers and ours,” or might have young children who will need a guardian if something were to happen to you, or even adult children who cannot manage money well, or you might be in a long-term relationship with an unmarried partner. You might have complicating real estate or business issues that will need to be addressed appropriately. You might have an estate that could be subject to Oregon Inheritance Tax or Federal Estate Tax. You might have children or grandchildren or a spouse with special needs. You might have a spouse whose mental or physical health is declining, and you may have concerns about the cost of long term care for you or your spouse in the future.
Our firm focuses on crafting a customized estate plan that addresses your unique situation and concerns. Our goal is to educate rather than intimidate. Many Portland-area attorneys are able to draft a will, trust and other essential documents, but may need to refer you elsewhere if other elder law and complex estate planning matters arise. Some draft customized wills and occasionally handle probate cases, but do not have the experience to deal with trust administration or a complex real estate transaction, for example.
